Detox has become a new buzz word in recent years. However the scope of Detox programs vary greatly from simple juice types fasts with enemas to medically based detox programs. The Yoga Detox falls more into the latter category and has been carefully designed from Graeme's extensive 25 years experience as a respected Naturopath (specializing in detoxification programs). With Carole's experience as a life-coach, teacher and practitioner of Ashtanga yoga, they have designed the program to suit practitioners of yoga, both in the context of detox and living a more yogic and fuller lifestyle.
The Yoga Detox works on a deeper level physically than most fasts, to deal effectively with poisons and heavy metal toxins that most people have accumulated simply from living in a toxic world. Even yoga practitioners who have a healthy lifestyle will have toxins in their bodies - simply accumulated from living in a toxic world. High quality therapeutic meal replacements, natural therapies, herbal and homeopathic supplements support genuine detoxification with the safe removal of poisons. Whilst classical fasts often decrease metabolic rate, the Yoga Detox actually enhances metabolic rate. This enables you to maintain energy (and muscle mass) for your yoga practice and results in balanced weight maintenance in the longer term. The morning Mysore-style yoga practice already is a powerful process for each person. However on this retreat, other yoga and mind/body techniques are integrated with the program to facilitate healing on the mental, emotional and spirit level. There is an emphasis on a deep acceptance of "what is" and "surrender" along with compassion and humour to release limiting patterns and shift towards fulfilling your highest potential in life.
